Home for the Holidays

Beach. Beeeeeyooootifulll (:

Crab for dinner is a Christmas tradition at my house. Is it tacky that the crab is still alive in this photo?
... uhm, yes...
My Christmas cookies were shaped like Jewish stars and decorated with red and green. Happy Chrismukkah. :P

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy Happy 2010!!!

A Few Random Shots

I was cleaning off my desktop (because that's what I do when it's 2am and I don't have the energy to be productive and the sense to just suck it up and go to bed) and found these images lying around. Instead of keeping them there, I've uploaded a few random shots. Enjoy!
These three are from a while ago, in Half Moon Bay. I just loved these little cactus flowers and they looked so pretty in the fog. (:

I picked my dog up from "doggy camp" this summer and just couldn't resist these awesome... weeds. How western outback do they look!?

My Dad and I spend the day in Golden Gate Park over the summer. These shots are from the rose garden, which is seriously one of my favorite places in the entire world. Who knew there were so many perfect flowers!?

Red Tide in Half Moon Bay

Last week in Half Moon Bay we were lucky enough (or were we?) to experience a Red Tide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_tide) on Surfer's Beach. I went down in shorts and waded through the water trying to get the perfect shot. And yes, (despite slight tweaking in Photoshop) the water really truly is that color. Weird, I know.

I had just a little fun with texture in Photoshop on this one... I just like how it makes it look like a cool old photo. (:

I think this one's one of my favorites. It was weird (and yet oh so cool) how the water was orange in some places and blue/grey in others. I was thrilled when this wave crashed in just the orange part.

That's all. Don't swim in the water when it looks like this. And keep an eye out for all the dolphins and seals and pelicans; they just loooovee all the dying fish (they die because all the algae sucks up all the oxygen in the water-isn't that sad?!).
